Virgen Chinita

La Virgen de Chiquinquirá — La Chinita — is the patron saint of Maracaibo, Venezuela. She is part of my roots, my identity, and my memory. Painted on wood in the tradition of sacred icons, the gold geometric halo, the star-studded blue mantle, the flowers at her feet — each detail carries devotion. This piece was commissioned and exhibited, bringing a piece of Venezuela to Florida.
